Happy Birthday Em!

Okay, adults are so weird. This gigantic bow came on a wagon that I got for my birthday and for whatever reason, every time someone would come to the door they felt compelled to put this bow on my head and make cutsie noises at me. If that is what getting older is all about....I think I'll stop at one!
This is my cake! Doesn't Henry look cute?!?
At first I thought it was a dream.....I couldn't possible be allowed to tear into another cake. I took it slow at first.......
and then I thought what the heck! I probably will never be allowed to do this ever again!
MMMMMMMMM. It was good! Oh, by the way, mom says that she is sorry these pictures are so late. She is in the last week of her classes and has had a lot of work. I know...the lady needs to get her priorities straight. My public needs me.....

New Friend

Today we found a turtle in the yard.
Daddy says that she is a girl. He flipped her over and looked at her tail. He is so silly, I told him that he should look for a hair barrette....that is how people tell if I am a girl.

Beauty Queen

Mommy didn't wear makeup until high school......I decided that 1 was a good age though.

Fun In The Sun!

Mommy let me pick this flower out of the yard.
Just like with snacks though, I had to have one for each hand. This was a fun day. I went to have my one year pictures taken, and I got to destroy and entire birthday cake all by myself. I will put pictures of my party and the pictures we had taken today later.....right now I have to figure out why water won't come out of this can....

I Thought You Were Paid To Pick On Other People's Kids!

So mom and dad put in a chalkboard on the back of the island when they did the kitchen. I guess now that I'm one, I have to start learning how to write my name. I mean, I know they are both teachers but jeez louise, can't I at least use the potty before we start this kinda thing?

What A Difference A Year Makes

Miss "Pearl" as she is sometimes called (mostly when she is in trouble) turned 1 on April 17th. I know she is usually the one doing all of the talking, but we decided to cut in and tell you a little bit about her first year. Always in the 90 to 95th percentile in height and 45 to 5oth percentile for weight (sound like anyone else you know?) she is an active little thing that has been on the go from the second she discovered she could kick from inside the womb. She started walking at 9 months, her first words were DaDa then MaMa and quickly followed with OH WOW! She loves to dance, pat her belly, give kisses and is now sticking her tongue out on command. She can point out her nose, eyes, and mouth and eats almost 24 hours a day. She loves her kitty sisters and brother and also loves to go outside now that it is turning nicer. It has been an amazing year for us and we appreciate everyone who takes the time to check in and keep up with Em.

Summer Is Almost Here!

Henry and I are almost 1! We are getting our picture taken to see how much we have grown in a year.
Mom decided to wrestle this stupid barrette in my hair. She tried to pull it up the other day and that is where I put my foot down! Just because she always has hers wadded up doesn't mean that I want to look like that!

Make Up Your Minds Already!

Do you want me to wink or say cheese? I feel like I should be charging admission or something. Hmmmmm, my piggy bank could stand to be a little heavier....

Silly Faces

That silly flash gets me every time!
This is my cheese face. Why do people always tell you to say cheese anyway? I think I'd rather have ice cream or at least a cookie.
This is my "isn't this the cutest kid you've ever seen" face. You'd be surprised at the things this one will get ya!

Daddy's Little Helper

Mommy got a new bench for the front porch. She says that she can never get daddy to read the directions, so I thought I would try.
See.....read first, THEN find the parts.
I still had to check to be sure he did it right.....it's hard to find good help these days!
